  • improved joint mobility.
  • decreased stress levels.
  • improved posture and coordination.

Vision Works is a company that encourages everyone to love their health, stay healthy and #LoveYourEyes, and because of this passion for eye awareness and supporting our clients and communities, we are a proud sponsor of the 2023 Dis-Chem Ride For Sight Cycle Race which will be held on the 19th of February – Boksburg City Stadium, Jubilee Road.

This annual race is held in conjunction with Retina SA, to highlight the importance of having your eyes tested and maintaining great eye health.

The funds generated from this event go into funding the research and treatment of retinal blinding conditions like retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration and other retinal conditions thousands of South Africans suffer with each year.

One of these disorders is macular degeneration, with blurry vision being the main symptom.

There are two types of macular degeneration; wet and dry.

With dry macular degeneration, the centre of the retina deteriorates and with wet macular degeneration, leaky blood vessels grow under the retina.

In both cases, vision loss occurs.

If you’d like to find out more detailed information about a host of other conditions, then Retinal blinding conditions is a must-read for you.

That’s why being aware of the need to help others through a great event like this is so important. This is why getting your eyes tested, being educated on possible eye disorders and ways of uplifting and supporting organisations like Retina SA is so important.

And, it’s not only beneficial for people affected by retinal eye conditions, because if you take part in this great (event) cause, there are some amazing prizes in store for you.

All pre-entries will receive an eye care assessment voucher.

All category winners will receive:

A pair of Oakley Cycling sunglasses as well as a voucher for our Smart Technology eye test.

We will also be giving 2 additional Smart Technology eye tests for the lucky draw and 6 pairs of Barrier sunglasses as well.

All participants will receive a free eye care assessment voucher in their bags and a great eyewear accessory as well.

If you add R40 to your online entry fee or when you purchase a ticket at registration, you stand a chance of winning a 2022 Orbea Avant H40-D Aluminium Gravel Bike sponsored by Cyclelab, valued at R30 999.00.
