EATing for your eyes - Green-treat smoothie recipe

We do not always have the time to cook and prepare scrumptious healthy meals but smoothies help to alleviate the time constraints of modern society. This refreshing smoothy is best served chilled and after exercising or spending time with your kids outdoors. Not only is the smoothy delicious but it is also packed with lutein, zeaxanthin and vitamin C which have amazing health benefits for your eyes.

 

(serves 4)

3/4 cup mango

1/4 cup pineapple

1 cup spinach / kale

1 cup coconut water

1/2 lemon squeeze directly into blender

pinch of cinnamon 

 

Place all ingredients in a blender and serve

tip: add a few almond shavings as a crunchy topping
